Sea Cloud entices with 2012 Culinary Cruise

-Journey from the kitchen to the cellar with a host of foodie experts on River Cloud II’s 2012 culinary cruise along the Moselle and Rhine-

17th August 2011:  Awards winning German chef Harald Russel, celebrated wine expert Ingo Swoboda and famous affineur Rene Tourrette will all be on board River Cloud II from 01 to 09 June 2012 to reveal the secrets of their respective arts for the eighty passengers on this gourmet cruise.

Departing on 01st June 2012, the journey will commence with a wine and herbs excursion to the 2.000 year old city of Trier in Germany. Guests will enjoy numerous wine tastings in exceptional vineyards from many of the 13 wine-growing areas of Germany accompanied by the professional and entertaining Ingo Swoboda as they cruise through the Rhine, Main and Moselle region of Germany.

Gourmet food lovers will enjoy regional culinary fare delicacies and be treated to a series of special menus including a specially created gala dinner from Harald Russel and the best new young chefs of the “Jeunes Restaurateurs Deutschland”.

Highlights of this culinary experience include:
• Wine and Cheese excursion to the 2,000 year old city of Trier
• Wine and peaches tour of Cochem and visit to Reichsburg Castle
• Evening visit to Vollrads Castle with a wine tasting and concert in Rudesheim, Germany
• Wine and cheese city tour, cathedral visit and boat trip through La Petite France and cheese tasting at La Cloche a Fromage with cheese specialist Rene Tourette.
• Wine and chocolate tasting in Freiburg

*Prices for the eight night cruise commence from €2,295 per person in a guaranteed double cabin and €2,675 per person in a guaranteed single cabin. There is also an early bird offer of an additional €300 per person for bookings made prior to 31st October 2011.

*All cruises include the sailing in the selected cabin class with full board including premium quality wines and beer with meals.

# Star chef Harald Russel, is the former president of the German section of the Jeunes restaurateurs and comes from the Moselle region. He gained experience in Michelin-starred kitchens all over the world before earning his own Michelin star at his restaurant, Landhaus St Urban, named after the patron saint of wine growers.
